Grown by the Gathaithi Farmers’ Cooperative Society Ltd in Nyeri, a co-op of around 1200 small farmers with approximately 140 hectares under coffee cultivation.
The area is respected coffee growing area, the soil being both Volcanic and organically rich. The high altitude and good rainfall in the area is also a major plus.
Like most co-ops, the coffee is all handpicked and taken to the wet mill for processing on the same day.
Parchment is fully dried on raised drying beds before the final processing at a local dry mill.
